THE SON OF NEPTUNE by Rick Riordan

Percy makes his return in THE SON OF NEPTUNE by Rick Riordan. This book is just as totally awesome as THE LOST HERO.

The book opens with Percy being chased by two gorgons, trying to kill him using poisoned free food samples. Not that unexpected when you consider some of the other things that have happened to Percy. Soon he finds a doorway guarded by two demigods, a boy named Frank, and a girl named Hazel. The demigods let Percy into the doorway and it leads to a camp called Camp Jupiter. This camp is full of Roman demigods who follow the Roman gods.

After saving Frank in a river, Percy is taken in by a group in Camp Jupiter called The Fifth Cohort. Later on, after Frank, Hazel, and Percy become really good friends they are sent on a quest to free Thanatos (God of Death) and defeat the giant Alcyoneus. If they do not succeed, killed monsters will just keep coming back rapidly fast.

This book is really good, and has a lot of awesome action, cool adventures, mystery, and is really funny. Fans of THE LOST HERO and the PERCY JACKSON SERIES will not be disappointed.

THE LOST HERO by Rick Riordan

This. Book. Is. AWESOME. THE LOST HERO by Rick Riordan is definitely in my top ten list of best books, along with Riordan's other series, PERCY JACKSON.

THE LOST HERO is about a boy named Jason, who wakes up on a bus filled with kids from a school for "trouble kids". Near by him are two kids, a boy named Leo, and a girl named Piper. Jason does not remember anything, although Piper and Leo act as if Jason has been their friend for a long time.

The bus is taking the kids to the Grand Canyon, and after a wild encounter with some bad Storm Spirits, Jason probably figures nothing else totally crazy is going to happen. Well, he is completely wrong. A chariot pulled by Pegasus take them to a camp called Camp Half Blood.

Jason, Piper, and Leo stay at the camp for a while, and in that while, they start to hear all about this missing kid named Percy. Jason figured he must have been a really important part of the camp. Soon Jason, Leo, and Piper get sent on a quest to save Hera (Greek goddess of marriage). Jason, Piper, and Leo travel lots of places, including Quebec.

This book has adventure, action, mythology, and lots of funny moments. The characters are great, the story will keep you wanting to read, and if PERCY JACKSON hasn't gotten you into mythology, this book probably will.

THIS BOOK IS BOOKIN' AWESOME!

THE STRANGE CASE OF ORIGAMI YODA by TOM ANGLEBERGER

THE COVER
THE STRANGE CASE OF ORIGAMI YODA by Tom Angleberger is about a sixth grade weirdo named Dwight, who creates an original origami Yoda.

This paper figure is not just for show, it can also predict the future. It has helped a bunch of people with tricky situations and problems. This is a mystery because origami Yoda is so wise yet Dwight is so clueless.

Another sixth grade boy named Tommy needs to find out if its Dwight controlling origami Yoda or if Yoda is actually tapping into the force, because he needs to find out an answer to a very important question that has to do with a girl.

This book is filled with case files-stories of when kids got some Yoda advice. Although Yoda sometimes is not the most helpful, example:

Q: Origami Yoda, how do you find the grenade launcher in the Arctic level of Operation Death Rain?

A: Read a book should you.

Q: You mean like the hint book? That costs fifteen dollars!

A: No, a book like The Hobbit.

This book is filled with funny and cool stories, and at the end off each story, there are comments from Tommy, and Tommy's friend Harvey (who is trying to prove origami Yoda is nothing more than a folded piece of paper).

Thats why I like  THE STRANGE CASE OF ORIGAMI YODA by Tom Angleberger so much. If you get the chance to pick this up, I think you should go for it!
